Welcome to Well and Ready HQ
We're two Kiwi mums who know that starting school is about so much more than a lunchbox and a backpack. It’s a season full of excitement, questions, big emotions, and plenty of moments where you wonder if you’re getting it right.
Well and Ready HQ was born from our own experiences navigating the school years, countless late-night chats, and a shared belief that no parent should have to figure it all out alone.
We ’re not here to tell you how to parent or add to the pressure. We’re here to offer practical, trusted, New Zealand-based guidance that helps you feel informed, prepared, and confident every step of the way.
Whether you're wondering what's "normal," preparing for what's next, or simply looking for reassurance, you'll find honest advice, helpful resources, and a community that understands.
Because when parents feel supported, tamariki thrive.
We're so glad you're here, and we're honoured to be part of your family's school journey.
The People Behind Well & Ready
I'm a primary school teacher and a busy mum, so I understand the school journey from both sides of the classroom.
I've had the privilege of teaching in a variety of schools and supporting children and families with the transition into school. Now, I'm experiencing it all again—this time as a parent, navigating my own five-year-old's first year at school.
That combination of professional experience and real-life parenting gives me a unique perspective. I know that every child is different, every family has questions, and even with a teaching background, the school years can bring plenty of uncertainty.
I'm passionate about helping parents feel informed, prepared, and confident, with practical advice, honest insights, and encouragement that makes the school journey feel a little easier for the whole family.
Alannah
I'm a proud stay-at-home mum to two school-aged children, and over the years I've experienced just about every stage of the primary school journey. With my eldest now heading into the final years of primary school, I understand how quickly these years pass—and how each stage brings new milestones, challenges, and opportunities.
Organisation is one of my strengths. From school calendars and permission slips to lunchboxes, extracurricular activities, and the everyday juggle of family life, I know how much goes into keeping everything running smoothly.
Being at home with my children since they were born has given me the opportunity to be deeply involved in their learning and school experiences. I've learned that there isn't a one-size-fits-all approach to parenting or school life, and sometimes what families need most is practical support, reassurance, and someone who truly understands the day-to-day realities.
I'm passionate about helping other parents feel more organised, confident, and supported so they can enjoy the school years alongside their children.
